Reiki, pronounced “Ray” “Key” is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Energy”—the Life Force that surrounds us and flows through all that is alive.    It is the greatest vibration of life energy available to a human being, an animal and even plants.  Evidently originating in ancient Tibet, this natural healing energy was revived over a century ago in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui.

My attunements to Reiki Energy, originated through direct lineage, without any alterations to the original methodology.

Scientific research supports what some of us already know through experience and intuition – that the origin of imbalance or illness is often emotional (blocks held in the body) and furthermore, that emotional and spiritual healing, especially through energy work, are highly effective as preventative and therapeutic tools.  This knowledge is ancient.

Reiki is a gentle and effective hands-on, non-invasive healing modality that channels the flow of life energy that promotes the body’s natural ability to heal itself, by giving us what we need on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.  My clients who are in pain or distress due to physical ailments or injuries, or the after/side effects of surgery or drugs (e.g. chemotherapy, AZT) experience a feeling of total relaxation and peace.

While positioned, either lying down or seated, and being fully clothed, my clients often comment that they feel very safe, supported and nurtured during a session, regardless of the issue(s) they are dealing with.

Reiki is not a religion, or dogma as it holds no creed or doctrine.  Reiki can do no harm, nor does it conflict with other therapies such as psychotherapy, natural remedies or treatments, or medical procedures (in fact, it complements them).  The founder of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui, teaches the following five Reiki Principals as a guide to a way of life.

Just for Today … Do Not Anger

Just for Today … Do Not Worry

Just for Today … Do Your Work Honestly

Just for Today … Honour your parents, teachers and elders

Just for Today … Be grateful to every living thing
